Who is PWNAGE 2451?

PWNAGE is a multi-community, high school level robotics team that competes in FIRST Robotics
Competitions. Our members come from over ten high schools or are homeschooled in the western
suburbs of Chicago. PWNAGE consists of 30 students, professional mentors and parent volunteers. Our
team meets throughout the year at Genesis Automation in St. Charles, IL.

FIRST stands for “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology” and its goal is to inspire
and motivate students to pursue education and careers in science, technology, engineering and math
(STEM) through robotic competition. If you would like to know more about FIRST, its structure and
competitions, please visit www.firstinspires.org.

PWNAGE is governed by the Youth Robotics and STEM Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity. The
Foundation’s motto is “Inspiring Youth Through STEM.” Our Foundation believes that the United States
needs students who are interested in and excited about STEM careers. It seeks to provide hands-on
experience with real-world application to show students what it takes to solve problems and get the job
done. The Foundation prepares future generations to serve our corporations, communities and country
by opportunities that supplement and expand on what kids are learning in school.

While PWNAGE has received accolades and prestigious awards, this team builds more than robots. This
team builds well-rounded, independent thinkers who work together. This team builds confidence by
mentoring students to take their complex, abstract ideas and bring them to life using industry grade
materials and equipment. Students fabricate, program, design and problem solve until they hold their

ideas in their hands. They also gain business acumen, project management experience, communication
skills and leadership abilities.

Each FRC season kicks off in January with a new game. After the season ends in April, our team is
actively involved in our communities, hosting educational science and programming camps for kids age
5-12, and presenting at various fairs, trade shows, outreach events and service projects. Whenever we
participate in community events, we gratefully recognize our sponsors.
